What's inside my makeup bag

1:48 AM

I know I've been MIA lately due to work and etc. But since I have a few days off for my holiday vacation - I decided to blog again. So let's dive in!

I'm the type of person that when it comes to bringing makeup I try to bring only the necessities or as other people may say it as "minimalist". I don't wear full coverage makeup but I do wear makeup everyday to look presentable. of course, I'm a teacher and I always have to look presentable. I wear minimal make up - I often go for the "no make up - make up look" or let us just call it a natural look?

So let's start! I'll try to make this in order and put the links where you can buy it.

*disclaimer: the items mentioned may work on me, but may or may not work on you. Try it at your own risk. Hope you enjoy the post*

  •  I opted for this because for the past few months my skin drastically change from being oily to being dry to combination skin, plus my skin became more sensitive. So my Dermatologist suggested that I always apply sunscreen. So when I heard about this, I immediately look for a review and I was surprised on the good review it had so I bought the travel size which is the 10ml for only 169 php. I tried it out and it worked on me so I bought the bigger size. I placed the smaller one inside my bag so I can reapply if I need.
Pros:
       - affordable for a tinted sunscreen
       - it has a high sun protection
       - it does mattify my face, great for
       - very natural looking
       - does even out the redness or discoloration
       - light weight and breathable
       - I apply it as a base or a primer before my BB cream.

Cons:
       - it quite drying, it will emphasize your dry patches
       - does not have any coverage, it will not conceal your blemishes or acne
       - I don't think it has shades
       - it doesn't have any oil control
       - it's not that long lasting because it is just a sunscreen.

2. Iwhite BB Holic Everyday BB Cream

shade: Light
  • Probably the best bb cream I have ever tried! One of my holy grail, I bow down to this and I always always go back to it. No matter what happens I will always opt for this bb cream. I swear by this product that this is one of the best drugstore bb cream out there and it is very comparable to high end products. I'm this the shade light, I have it both the bottle and the sachet. I will have this inside my makeup bag and will definitely recommend to other people to try it.  Of course I have the sachet in my bag, in case I need to touch up or if I'm in a rush and I have to do my makeup at work or in the car.
Pros:
       - Affordable! 25 pesos for a two in one sachet. Then for the tube it cost like 160 pesos.
       - light weight, breathable, skin but better
       - very moisturizing and great for skin types
       - evens out redness and has a minimal coverage but build-able.
       - it does last long for a good amount of time
       - never cakey
       - the sachet lasts for at least two weeks for that whole sachet. (it depends on how much you          apply) while the bottle will last you months.
       - has yellow undertone and somewhat a pinkish to neutral undertone

Cons:
      - it's in a sachet, so it will be a little messy. if you buy the sachet.
      - only has two shades (light & beige) but it is very suitable to Morena skin and Lighter skin tones.

3. Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer

  • I don't wear concealer everyday just when I need it, such as if I have a meeting or If I have to cover my dark under eyes. It is not the best concealer I've tried but it is good enough if you just want to conceal some areas of your face like blemishes and redness. The reason why I have it inside my bag is because I'm finishing it up so I can try new concealers. But it is a good concealer. I'm in the shade 20 Sand
Pros:
      - Affordable, 199 pesos for the whole thing. Try to catch it while it is on sale
      - Covers my acne, blemishes, redness and dark under eyes
      - great for highlighting areas of the face
      - has a wide shade range
      - great for all skin types
      - coverage is build-able to full

Cons:
      - Sometimes it does cake up when you build it up but I do use a sponge and brush for this.

4. Ever Bilena x Kris Brow Liner and Brow Mascara

  • This is the collaboration of Ever Bilena and Ms. Kris Aquino. One thing I love about this product is that it is a two in one, it has a brow liner and brow mascara. I am in the shade Happy Taupe - regarding the shade range it has only two shades but the formula and the pigment is good. I love the brow mascara it does remind me of the brow mascara from glossier, you can use both liner and mascara or mascara alone. But I think for me, I would still need to fill in my brows before applying the mascara. I have it inside my makeup kit because it is so handy, a two in one product. It is my on the go brow product.

Pros:
      - Affordable, for only 275 pesos you get two products!
      - Very pigmented, quite comparable to high end products
      - has a triangular or somewhat circular tip that is easy to use
      - brow wand is amazing
      - very handy
      - great for setting the brows and does last the whole day.

Cons:
     - has only two shades
     - I don't know if this is a con but although other people can use the brow mascara alone, with my experience with the shade Happy Taupe I don't think it won't work alone - I think people would have to fill the brows first before applying the product.

5. Luna Organics Mousse Blush

  • For blush, I do opt for the cream blush type because it is way more long lasting and very easy to use. The blush that I am currently using the Luna Organics Mousse Blush in the shade Ginger, it has very nice pigment on my skin. It is very blend-able and very easy to use. One to two dots of this is enough to give you that drunk blush. But since I'm working in a school, I just apply it on the apples of my cheek or the high points of my cheek. And it will just look like you are naturally blushing.
  • please do be careful on buying Luna Products, because there are a lot of fake Luna Products, please buy the Authentic one on their official Facebook Account, they do have legit re-sellers near you that sell Authentic Luna Products.
Pros:
      - Affordable! I got mine for 180 pesos from one of the legit re-seller near me
      - Blends like a dream
      - It does last long maybe a bout half of the day (4 - 5 hours)
      - Matipid! Small amounts or small dots can give you that enough blushing rosy cheeks
      - Made locally in the Philippines!
      - Great for all skin types; for oily skin set it with powder (I suggest translucent powder)
      - somewhat comparable to Glossier Cloud Paints

Cons:
     - sometimes it does feel thick and tacky, depending on the amount you apply but when you set it with powder the feeling will subside or disappear
     - it is a bit oily, but it doesn't bother me because the oil helps the product last throughout the day or just for a longer period

POWDERS x POWDERS x POWDERS

6. Cathy doll Gluta Pact
You can buy it at any 711 stores, Robinsons Department Store and SM Department
One of the best compact powders I've tried. It doesn't have the full coverage type of powders but it has brightening effect and does cover the imperfections without emphasizing the dryness. I don't often use this product because I do want the glass skin look. But if I have to touch up or lessen the oils on my face I will use this.
Pros:
      - Affordable, the travel size cost 120 pesos while the full size compact cost about 299 pesos
      - Brightens the face and has a good oil control
      - Best for oily and normal to combination skin
      - Super cute packaging and very handy
      - Has spf50!

Cons:
      - the only available shades are two (light beige and natural beige) my shade is natural beige #23

7. Shawill Dazzling Crystal Stereo eyeshadow

I don't have so many things that I have to say about this product other than it is affordable, creamy and pigmented. I use it as a highlighter since it has pinkish color great for applying on the top of your blush. I don't use this often but when I want a glass skin look I apply this on highest points of my cheeks.
Pros:
       - Affordable, got mine on sale for less than 50 pesos
       - though it is a single eyeshadow I use it as a highlighter, very multipurpose
       - subtle, not to intense just the right amount of glow
       - creamy and easy to blend
       - there are a wide color range, but I got mine in the shade 002

Cons:
      - hard to find, usually sold out
      - easy to break, from the picture above - it did break but understandable since it is a powder.

LIPS x LIPS x LIPS

8. Apollo Lip Balm Petroleum Jelly in Pretty Pink

  • I have very dry and peeling lips. I wasn't able to but the Vaseline Lip Balm Petroleum Jelly so I decided to buy this one and so far it is quite the same thing the only difference is the flavor or the taste on the lips. I know it is weird but it does a sweet taste.
Pros:
       - moisturizing
       - helps my lips from the peeling
       - it has a stain because it has color
       - inexpensive I got mine in my nearest drugstore for only 49 pesos

LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST

9. Lipsticks
  • I am currently obsessed with nudes or my lips but better type of lipstick. I will share the following lip products that I constantly try to use everyday, I try to mix them probably two to three lipsticks together and sometimes I try to the gradient effect - if that is still a thing.
  • Things that I love in a lip product or lipstick - Moisturizing and not drying, Matte and long lasting.
  • But like I said all of the lip products are currently is what I've been using for everyday and I don't have a specific brand that I'm hyping right now, it is more like if I like a product and the shade I'll buy it.  But I'll try to share my thoughts about the brand and the products. So here are the couple of lipsticks that I am currently using
I have three lipsticks from Detail Makeover (right to left)
Guilty, Happy, Geeky

I have two lipsticks from Vice Cosmetics (right to left)
